Attorney General James recovers $1.1 million for Rikers Island cleaners cheated out of fair pay
CleanTech underpaid immigrant workers, refused to provide paid sick leave at the height of the pandemic, and required some workers to pay illegal kickbacks. The OAG has partnered with New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) to notify qualified workers they will receive due payments for wages and benefits. Affected workers can file a claim directly with OAG.
Attorney General James secures $500,000 and improved conditions for underpaid home health aides
Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) contracted with two home-care service agencies for which aides worked 24-hour shifts without breaks. VNS agreed to improve the contract terms to help ensure that aides are compensated for all hours worked. In addition, VNS contributed $500,000 for aides who worked for Intergen or Amazing after February 2015 on a case funded by VNS: Those aides can file a claim with the administrator, Simpluris.

Southerntier Custom Fabricators, Inc. failed to provide paid sick leave to unionized employees during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Impacted employees can file a claim with the administrator, Simpluris, Inc.
Attorney General James secures $1.5 million from Alba Services for mistreating workers
Alba kept workers from filing workers compensation claims, punished those who did file claims, and allowed other workers to be sexually harassed. Workers who were injured or sexually harassed can file a claim with the administrator, Atticus Administration.
Attorney General James secures $16.75 million for delivery workers cheated by DoorDash
DoorDash did not pay some delivery workers their full customer tips between May 2017 and September 2019. Attorney General James is returning $16.75 million to affected workers, who can file a claim with the administrator, Atticus Administration.
