Statement From A.G. Schneiderman On The Passing Of Sorel Depas-Medina

NEW YORK- Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today released the following statement in response to the passing of Sorel Depas-Medina, a longtime employee of the Office of the Attorney General. Mr. Depas-Medina was killed when he was struck by a vehicle Thursday.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of our friend and colleague, Sorel Depas-Medina. Sorel was a Clerk in our office’s Investor Protection Bureau, and served with distinction for seventeen years. I offer my deepest condolences to all who knew Sorel as a valued co-worker, father, husband and a dear friend. This tragic loss compounds an already tough stretch for the OAG family, following the recent passing of Assistant Attorney General Richard Schwartz. Please join me in sending your thoughts and prayers to Sorel’s loved ones during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed.”
