A.G. Schneiderman Directs $2.2M To Expansion Of Innovative Sustainable Homes Program
December 12, 2013 | Buffalo
In Buffalo, Attorney General Schneiderman announced that he will direct nearly $2.2 million for a two-pronged expansion of the highly-successful Buffalo Green and Healthy Homes Initiative (BGGHI), a program that has already helped more than 200 of Buffalo's neediest families lower their energy bills and eliminate serious home health and safety hazards in older homes. Using New York's winnings from a 2007 settlement with American Electric Power, the largest U.S. power company, this fund will not only focus on bringing the program to Buffalo's refugee community, but also it will help establish the initiative in Rochester and Syracuse.
